Good morning, everybody! Happy last week of school for the 2018-19 school year!Uploaded Jul 13, 2019
Our 4th graders took a field trip to the Discovery Cube Science Museum and got to participate in lots of hands-on science exhibits.
The oral presentations by our 5th grade students in the Dual Language Immersion program were impressive. Students whose first language is English, gave their presentations in Spanish. Students whose first language is Spanish did their presentations in English. Nice effort, you guys!
You all did such a good job last week during our practice emergency drills. One was planned and one wasn’t! You evacuated the school in record time! Even when some of you had substitute teachers! Because you had already practiced, you just knew what to do! Thank you for following directions so well.
A BIG Congratulations to the top 10 students at each grade level for making the most growth from i-Ready Diagnostic 2 to Diagnostic 3. When I asked them how they did it, they said: they read every question carefully, took their time, listened to the teacher’s instructions, they had grit and a growth mindset, and they took good notes.
Our 3rd graders had a fantastic time at Legoland! It was a long trip there and back but in between, it was a day full of adventures!
1st grade welcomed many dads into their classrooms on Friday. They played board games, computer games and took pictures. They also played Kahoot. They had a great time!
Some of our 5th graders engineering challenge was to make a ring out of Pringles chips. It had to be fully supported with only Pringles. They had to write up a plan on how they would build it. It was extremely challenging but the results were awesome!
Did you hear? Mrs. Waters was chosen as one of Riverside County’s Teachers of the Year out of 23 school districts! We had to keep it a secret at first so Mr. Jones, our custodian, drove a van full of people, including the county superintendent onto the field where she was having fun with all the 4th grade classes. All of a sudden, all the people got out of the van and it was announced that she was the winner! We really surprised her!
Library: Don’t forget, there are still 113 books missing from our brand new Starlight library! Looks under your beds, couches, under the seat in the car, at your grandmas’ house, and bring all of the books back! Some classes have turned every single book in like Mrs. Ragan’s!
