The purpose of the event was to simulate an actual active shooter event occurring on the high school campus; demonstrating lockdown procedures, police response, and evacuation protocols.

The Beaumont Board of Trustees held a special Board meeting on Saturday, January 12, 2019, to conduct a study session on school facilities.
Over the past 20 years, the population in the city of Beaumont has nearly quadrupled. That prompted KVCR listener Mario Gonzalez to ask us: with all of the people moving to Beaumont, what are the plans to build more schools and infrastructure to keep up?

The Beaumont Board of Trustees will hold a special Board Meeting on Saturday, January 12, 2019, from 8:30 to Noon to conduct a study session on school facilities. The Board will open the floor for public comment from the community before the start of the study session.
